Questions

What people ask before they call.

Including the two that save the most money.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. Every job is quoted as a fixed price before we start, so the number you agree to is the number you pay. If we open something up and the scope genuinely changes, we stop and re-quote rather than letting the invoice grow while the clock runs.

Is there an after-hours surcharge?

No. A burst pipe at 2am costs the same as one at 2pm. We would rather you called us immediately than sat watching water spread because you were worried about a night rate.

How fast can you actually get here?

Our average across the last 30 days is 47 minutes from call to van in the driveway. That is an average, not a promise — a January freeze with forty burst pipes across the metro is slower, and we will tell you honestly where you sit in the queue.

Why do you camera a drain you have already cleared?

Because clearing tells you the blockage is gone and nothing else. Much of this metro sits on clay sewer lateral with root intrusion, which means the blockage will return. The camera tells you whether you are looking at a recurring problem or a one-off.

What should I do before you arrive?

Shut off the water. In most Kansas City homes the main is in the basement on the street-facing wall, or in a box near the kerb. Call us and we will walk you through finding it while the van is moving.

Do you work on galvanised pipe?

Yes, and we will be straight with you about it. Galvanised corrodes from the inside until the bore closes up, so patching one section of a failing system buys you very little. We would rather quote you a staged repipe you can actually afford than take money for a repair we expect to fail.

Are you licensed?

We hold a Kansas City Master Plumber License and carry full liability cover and bonding. Missouri licenses plumbers locally rather than at state level, so be wary of anyone in this metro advertising a 'state license' — there is no such thing here.

Do you handle insurance work?

We photograph and document every burst and every water escape as a matter of routine, and we will provide that to your insurer. We do not bill carriers directly.
